Where Was I? Bali, Of Course!

I’m BACK! I had an amazing amazing holiday. I had the chance to travel with my husband and son to Bali, Indonesia.

It. Was. Beautiful.

I had so much fun, I got to spend quality time with my husband and son, I got to breath some fresh air and relax after the stress of exams.

Of COURSE, I took a gazillion photos.. Here are a select few from my Instagram account:

While waiting at the airport, 3alawi took his stroller for.. a stroll, obviously.

After a flight to Dhoha, then Singapore, we finally arrived to beautiful rainy Bali, Indonesia. Our driver and the staff at the hotel were really friendly and sweet. I loved how patient they were and how they played along when 3alawi explored the lobby and waved at people checking in hehe

We stayed at the Banyan Tree, in a private villa with a little pool. The hotel’s on a cliff, so one day we decided to go down to the beach. We called Guest Services and ordered a buggy. The beautiful thing about Bali is that nature’s everywhere. It just makes you smile, thank God, say sub7an Allah and enjoy some peace and quiet.

When we got to the stairs before the beach, the view was breath-taking!

We went down and I was happy to see that 3alawi liked the sand between his toes. The only thing he didn’t like? Salty waves lol

A couple of days after that we went to the Bali Zoo. We took an elephant ride and that was fun lol then we explored the rest of the zoo:

Everything was gorgeous, mashallah, but the funniest thing that happened was meeting Jacky the Orangutan… First we saw this sign:

We saw Jacky and thought he looked all calm and quiet. We said, “Hey Jacky Jacky!” and we waved at him. He came closer.

We thought that was cute. Until he grabbed a banana…

We laughed and thankfully he didn’t throw it at us! LOL

After a great trip at the zoo, we went to an area called Ubud. We checked out the temples there:

The marketplace was AMAZING! So many colors!

I noticed that the Balinese are really good with their hands and crafts. The sculpting, the wood-carving and the painting. So it wasn’t a shock to see so many beautiful little statues all around the marketplace..

Overall it was a great journey. If you’re thinking about a honeymoon destination, a family outing or even a fun adventure with friends/close family, I recommend Bali. The first three months of the year, the coolest, are best. It was rainy and just a little bit humid when we were there, so I can imagine it being hot and quite humid during the summer months.

Anyways, I’m all energized for tomorrow. I can’t wait to get back in the classroom and see my students. I’d love to hear about my girls’ holidays and if they’d had adventures. Ahhh, here we go again!
