When this great gem popped into my head:

Life Is Like Hair. Whether you like it or not, one way or another, there are going to be tangles.”

I don’t know where I get those amazing mind-blowing thoughts, but I like’em lol :p

Introducing: La Merletto

Warning: Very Girly Post! For Shoppers Only!

Apparently, on my “Randomania” post, one of the silent readers sent the link to the people at La Merletto! AND they loved how it was a tiny little random mention, but after a few e-mails went back and forth with their sales manager (one of the two young Kuwaiti ladies who’re founders of the website), I thought it’d be even better if I post a little ad here for you guys to enjoy too.. Here’s the information that I got..

* La Merletto is Italian for Lace, hence the website’s lace header.

* It’s a shopping site founded by 2 Kuwaiti young women.

* The main idea for the website is based on surveys of what customers would like to buy from brands that are not available in Kuwait.

* Cash on delivery (i.e. Nobody steals your credit card number) & just 48 hours for delivery.

* If you like a brand or a piece of merchandise that isn’t available in Kuwait, you can contact them and they’ll gladly buy it for you if it’s possible.

* It’s still quite a new website, so they’re open for any suggestions or comments that can help them improve.

* They even have a crafts section!

* Customer service is very friendly.. I e-mailed them to ask about the size of one of their pajamas and the reply was quick and informative..

Here are the pajamas I bought & other stuff :p

Everything I Bought

For more details, click on each number to see a clearer image of each item: 1, 2 and 3

Like I said before, I exchanged e-mails with the site’s sales manager, and she ended up giving me a pretty cool offer for my blog readers ;D

Which brings me to item number 4 in the pic above lol

If you buy anything from the website, and mention that you’re a Swair Blog reader at checkout, they’ll give you this cute little heart medal to hang in your car.. It was supposed to be for Valentine’s but I got busy *slaps her forehead*

Anyways, you have to check them out, it’s a pretty cool site, it’s local and they buy u things from outside Kuwait and bring it to your house.. How cool is that? :p

OFFER ALERT UPDATE!!
I just got another e-mail, here’s an even better deal, and I quote:
“Special Offer for “The Swair Blog” readers: Get 20% Off our hand-made accessories… @ checkout, write this code: “Swair Offer” & you’ll get an e-mail confirmation of your discount!”

Woohoo! Don’t I really really rock? :p

“Who Wants To Marry Off Swair?”

Filed In: Family/Friends, General, LOL, Life, School, Serious, WTF?!

Since it’s “Valentine’s Day” and everybody’s wearing red and pink and giving out flowers, teddy bears and balloons and all that other crap… Let’s talk about love lives, specifically mine…

I am single and loving it. People don’t seem to get that.

I’m seriously wondering if there’s a private underground competition happening at my school… “Whoever marries off Swair first will get the 7alawa! Because there’s no such thing as a single teacher!” Wtf?

It’s not that I don’t believe in “love” or “marriage” or anything like that. It’s just that the only thing I believe in is a lttle bit of that good old Q&N… ”Qisma & Ne9eeb“.. Ya 7alat el qisma oo el ne9eeb..

True, I was semi-married once (milcha actually, just didn’t do anything to make it a marriage), but that doesn’t mean that that wasn’t my Qisma&Ni9eeb.. It was an experience I was meant to go through because some people may say “Oh My… I’m sooo sorry you had to go through that!”, but the only thing I’m sorry about is wasting those months with someone who wasn’t worth it.. I’m stronger now and I know what I want from life.. THAT makes me happy..

It’s flattering that the teachers and girls at administration are interested in seeing me in a happy marriage, blessed with the right life companion, the father of my children, and I appreciate it because yaboon el khair for me and everything..

I mean, I’ve had three teachers wanting to marry me off to random relatives, and a STUDENT who likes playing match-maker, for crying out loud!

But it starts to get annoying when they start to assume that I’m crying myself to sleep because there isn’t a man in bed next to me, and that I’m miserable and unhappy because I’m single.. More than once, when they stand close to me and say, “Enshalla tetzawejain oo ewansech weld el 7alal oo testansain..” I really feel like saying, “Thank you so very much for those wishes, but.. Wallah I’m fine!! I really AM loved, I do have family and friends that care for me, a job I enjoy and my very own ma3ash to spoil myself!”

If anything’s ever going to happen, enshalla kila Qisma oo Ni9eeb.. I don’t need anybody trying to rush it or force it to happen as soon as possible.. Just go with the flow, people..

I’m sure that there are many girls who feel that way..

I mean, guys, you’re nice and all, bs mithil ma some of you tell your moms it’s too soon for marriage and everything, we have those same feelings too..

Sure, you have to “etkawen nafsek” so to speak, and be prepared to start a family or to share your life with a member of the opposite sex, but we feel the same way too..

You think we’re constantly ready to dress up, straighten/curl our hairs, wax/shave every few days, not allow our eyebrows to go wild, watch what we dress at home, have someone monitoring our every move and possibly making weird descions such as “Ma etroo7een el 3irs! La et6awleen with your friends”, somehow force us to shorten our shower-time (OMG, sharing a bathroom!) and many many things that’d get on our nerves…? Of course, we also know you have your own habits that you’d like to NOT share with a life partner or things you don’t want to see coming from that life partner…

So for “Valentine’s Day(yes, it is between quotation marks cos I don’t believe in it *rolls her eyes*), all I have to say is I love my family, friends, blogger friends, real-life friends, my students, my staff members (in general, because they ARE great people on the inside), and everybody else, and I wish them all love too… I’m just not forcing it on them :p
