So I have a bunch of stuff to do in the upcoming weeks, so i’m cramming everything in this one post, click more for more and take your time reading, there won’t be any updates any time soon…
1* I’ve never been a huge feeds fan.. and for reasons unknown to me, i just don’t like GoogleReader.. but the other day, Jax sent me a link to this website called Netvibes.com and i’m really really liking it… It’s my current Hotness hehe
As soon as I logged in to it and made my account, I started to customize it… I have two tabs, one General which contains both my e-mails, a google search box and a youtube search box, along with MTV News, People.com, Dlisted.com and Dave Barry’s Blog.. so basically just general stuff and sites, and the other tab is called Blogs, where I have all the blogs I check.. It’s neat and it shows you the number of posts that’ve been unread by you…
At the same time, when you click on the post, you get a screen and you choose whether you’d like the plain feed view or if you’d like the website viewed… here’s what my Blogs tab looks like, just click on it for a better view: (yes, i use IE, osh wela kilma!)
UPDATED: Juju made me a header, so now it’s The Swair Vibes :p and I changed up the theme to match! it used to be like this… now it’s this:
I’m really happy and comfortable with this feeds site since it’s neat, shows me the details I want, I don’t have to open three other tabs (for gmail, google search- which a teacher constantly needs, and youtube) since everything I need is there and summarized.. AND the most important thing is that all my blogs are in one place and when I choose for the website to be viewed, I can comment while still in the same netvibes page, no need for right-clicking and opening a new tab…
2* I added a plug-in that can help me simplify the posting of videos on my blog posts, it only requires the ID number of the video (can be found in the link to the video itself), and it’s very useful for when I want to post videos that don’t have an embedding option.. (try it out here)
3* I’m looking for an audio player that allows me to upload songs from my laptop.. and I just want it to be a player and not something you can download from (sorry) since I’ve already had an uploading account closed because of copyright shenanigans…
I don’t want it to be an automatic-playing thing either , since that pisses the hell out of me when I visit blogs or websites and all of a sudden a heavy metal rock song or some chick moaning in a rap song comes blaring out of the speakers or straight in my ear.. I prefer to choose whether or not to play the damned song lol
So the search for a simple (but cute-looking) audio player begins! (Note to self: Must ask Mimi about it)
4* School is starting to become crowded.. I prefer the Unified System over the Credits System..
The Credits System books are heavier in content, the students get bored of the lessons easily (who the flying flippin’ fudge wants to learn how to get a car loan from the bank? they’re high school kids!)..
Plus, everything’s moving too fast, I have 6 lessons left and less than 10 days to go before Eid.. now here’s the part that sucks: Immediately after eid, 6th week exams start! (hence this long post)
AND there’s a possibility the students are going to start NOT attending a few days before eid, and I am NOT repeating anything for anyone! At the same time, I know that some students have parents who’re very id3al (spoiled ignorant children who think the school runs according to how fast the universe is spinning around them) and I’m getting a feeling that they’re going to start coming after eid complaining that their kids don’t know anything about the last lesson or two that they weren’t here for…
What are they going to do at home when they decide that “School can wait, Eid is coming!“? What is this thing that makes people prefer to stay home than care about their futures… ok, studying? can’t they do that in school? where teachers are closer just in case they have a question?
Am I seriously such a big nerd that I think school is more important than doing nothing before Eid? help…?
5* I hate the fact that some people don’t appreciate my cooking… no compliments (not even fake ones), no comments, no nothing.. I made cheese samboosa for someone in the family who adores cheese.. they’re Cheese Critics…
So I make the samboosa with this person in mind.. Later on I ask them to taste one and tell them I made it for THEM specifically… They taste it and say nothing… I ask “What do u think?”.. and this person goes “ehh… ya3ni..” while giving me this indifferent look… How crushed can someone get? Can you say INTBSS (Instant Need To Bitch-Slap Someone)?
6* Abu Nabeel & Abu Qutada are my Freej replacement (just for now :p).. thank Jax lol
7* New (healthier and fresh-er) Pizza Sauce:
Instead of using the bottled/canned pizza sauce, cook this up:
4 grated tomatoes, 4 grated cloves of garlic, one small KDD packet of Tomato paste, put them all in a frying pan and stir til it’s a thick red paste (it’ll smell amazing too)…
And this is how I like the toppings: one onion cut into tiny pieces, 1 green pepper cut into tiny pieces, black olives (yes, cut into tiny pieces), the usual mozerella cheese and some za3tar.. put all the veggies on top of the sauce (after pouring it over the dough, do not mix them up in the frying pan), then the cheese and then leave the za3tar for last.. It’s what gives the pizza that sexiness slightly spicy taste :p
8* There’s this student I’ve seen around school and talked to a few times, I’ve never taught her but she seems to be a pretty nice person.. smart and loves english (aham shay lol), so the other day she came up to me and told me that she’s dreamt of me three nights in a row.. she can’t remember all the dreams but the one that’s sticking out the most is of me being pregnant and teaching her…
She says “I dreamt that you were pregnant and teaching me, you were rubbing your belly gently and it showed that you were happy, not tired at all..”
Any idea what that means?
9* AAAAAHHH!!!!!!! (NOT good news!)
10* Last point (I promise) but most important:
