Another Oldies Post
Yes, as you all know i’m a sucker for Oldies.. specifically jazz and brass… i guess that’s why i’m liking Christina’s new stuff… anyways, i’ve always loved this song… i heard it first on Gavin DeGraw’s Chariot album, the 2nd CD with all the acoustic songs which is amazing, btw..anyways, i thought, why not search for the oldies one? so i found two versions of it, one by Sam Cooke and another by Otis Redding.. i don’t know which i love more, but they’re both amazing.. one with saxaphone and another with a full Orchestra band thing..
So try to download this song by whichever artist you want, but if u want clearer sound, get the Sam Cooke version..

I was born by the river in a little tent
And just like that river I’ve been running ever since
It’s been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will
It’s been too hard living, but I’m afraid to die
Cos I don’t know what’s out there beyond the sky
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will
BRIDGE:
And then I go to see my brother
And I ask him to help me please
And he just winds up knockin’ me
Back down on my knees
There were times when I thought I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able to carry on
It’s been a long, been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will
REPEAT VERSE 2
